Oreyeon brings its AI-powered technology to Spain to enhance airport safety

Oreyeon, a company specialized in artificial intelligence solutions for operational safety in airports and air bases, announced its entry into the Spanish market on July 10, 2025. The company brings civilian and military operators a proven runway-safety solution aligned with demanding international standards.

Its Runway Surface Monitoring System, RSMS, is designed to detect Foreign Object Debris and runway surface damage in real time. Already deployed across the Middle East and the United States, the platform has reduced inspection times by more than 40%, minimized incident risk, and helped optimize maintenance through a predictive operating model.

Foreign object debris represents one of aviation’s most costly and dangerous hidden risks, with estimated annual damage exceeding 23 billion dollars globally. Oreyeon’s technology responds to that challenge by combining smart sensors, computer vision, AI classification, and field reporting into a faster and more reliable inspection workflow.

RSMS can complete full runway inspections in under five minutes, including in adverse weather or low-connectivity environments. The system identifies the location of debris, classifies it by size and material, and gives ground teams the information they need to respond quickly and effectively.

The platform is built around three integrated modules: the Mobile Detection Unit, which can be mounted on airport service vehicles; IDRA, an augmented-reality reporting app for inspectors and ground teams; and an analytics dashboard that supports predictive maintenance and risk planning.

Oreyeon’s expansion into Spain is supported by Jota2 Group and other strategic partners in the aerospace sector, including Corporación Financiera Azuaga. The move arrives at a moment when airport digitalization, operational efficiency, and safety resilience are becoming urgent priorities for civil and military operators.
